Millefleurs means family tradition
Creating beauty across three generations
Carolyn, Mason, and Anna Brooks
For four decades, our family has been creating floral designs for weddings and special events throughout North Carolina's High Country.
Hey y’all,
I’m Mason and I grew up surrounded by flowers! Most of my childhood Saturday mornings, after driving to the Post Office with my dad to pick up the mail, my sister and I joined my mom at Holy Cross Episcopal church to help her prepare the altar for Sunday services. This was, of course, after we had scoured the High Country for anything that was blooming, looked funky and interesting, and would fit inside a vase.
My mom knew all the local farmers and all of the hidden picking spots. She gathered each stem or branch and turned those into a beautiful design to honor God and bring glory to His creation at church on Sunday.
Eventually, her “job” on the altar guild turned into Millefleurs. Over 40 years later, she is still imposing her wisdom and know-how to in our garage studio.

The backstory of our name
Millefleurs / say: mil-FLER
—French for "a thousand flowers"—
Carolyn's love of beauty began while exploring Paris flea markets in the 1960s. Inspired by art, gardens, and the natural world, she spent decades creating floral designs that transformed ordinary spaces into memorable celebrations.
Meet Our Team
Mason Heistand
Lead Desiger
Flowers have been part of Mason's life for as long as she can remember. After returning to the High Country with her family, she stepped into the business her mother founded more than three decades ago and now leads Millefleurs' next chapter.
Known for her thoughtful listening and attention to detail, Mason enjoys helping couples discover a floral style that reflects who they are—creating designs that feel natural, meaningful, and unforgettable.
Carolyn Clement
Founder
More than 35 years ago, Carolyn began arranging flowers for her church altar. As word spread, those simple arrangements grew into a flourishing wedding and event business.
The family garage became a floral studio, cutting gardens replaced parts of the yard, and friends and family gathered to help create the first Millefleurs weddings.
Today, Carolyn continues to share her experience and creative wisdom while supporting Mason as she leads the next chapter of Millefleurs.
The Rest of our Crew
Every Millefleurs wedding is the result of a talented team working together behind the scenes.
Our crew includes everyone from recent college graduates with a passion for flowers to retired artists with a keen eye for color, texture, and design. We love the creative collaboration that happens in our studio and believe the best ideas often emerge when different perspectives come together.
And yes—you may even spot Mason's kids lending a hand and carrying on the family tradition.
